President’s Welcome
On behalf of the St Helens Circle, The 21st Circle of the Catenian Association, I would like to extend to you a warm welcome to our website.
The Association was founded in Manchester in 1908 and spread rapidly throughout Great Britain . St Helens became the 21st Circle of the Association in 1914 and today there are now over three hundred seventy circles world wide in Australia, South Africa, India, Malta, Bangladesh, Israel, Zimbabwe and Ireland,
St Helens Circle meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the Unison Club, Bishops Road, St Helens, WA10 6SX where, after a short formal meeting we enjoy a two course buffet meal and socialising with members and visitors. No charge is made to visitors including those who are interested in seeing what we are about without obligation.
We enjoy different social and spiritual occasions throughout the year. We have a special evening each year when we entertain our Clergy with a three course banquet. An evening that both our Clergy and our members look forward too. One special evening is in November when we have formal black tie dinner and dance in honour of our Ladies.
The Circle has currently over fifty members ranging in age from early thirties to ninety, some are retired whilst others have active careers. In the last twelve months two of our members married whilst others celebrated various wedding anniversaries.
We all try to live our lives in accordance with the ideals of our Catholic faith, supporting one another and our widows as needs arise and encouraging friendship and social bonds among our members and their families.
Please take a few moments to browse our site and feel free to leave any comments on the contact us page.
